Food Service Supervisor - IOA

Overview
Supervises activities associated with the Academy food service to ensure nutritional value, efficiency, safety, and compliance with all regulatory entities.
Responsibilities
Ensure the development and maintenance of food and beverage service plans for the residents and other academy needs.
Ensure purchasing, stocking and inventory processes are in place and followed consistently.
Supervise and participate in food handling and preparation processes.
Participate in the selection, training, ongoing development and performance evaluation of food service staff.
Maintain records and documentation for all food service department activities and produce required data for both internal needs and for external regulatory requirements.
Participate in the annual budget development process and manage the current department budget.
Ensure confidentiality regarding resident' issues, background and treatment; comply with Nexus policies involving privacy and confidentiality rules for residents and their families.
Conduct and attend staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
Perform other responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes
Remain current on all required training and certifications.
Remain current on and cognizant of all food service related federal, state and licensing regulations and standards, and their implications for the Academy.
Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple priorities and perform activities in a manner that makes the best use of existing resources, staff and time.
Demonstrate the ability to develop a cohesive and effective team, through the use of basic supervision and team-building components such as: communicating a clear mission to the team, outlining common goals and promoting shared accountability for outcomes. Identify problems that can inhibit team/staff development and choose facilitation strategies to help achieve team goals.
Easily adjust and be flexible in meeting changing work needs and demands and willingly provide direction and/or assistance when needed.
Demonstrate problem resolution skills and the ability to handle emergency or crisis situations and use sound judgment by taking appropriate actions consistent with Nexus policy and procedures. Remain calm and effectively manage stressful workload conditions and difficult, emotionally charged or crisis situations.
Maintain healthy relationships and appropriate boundaries with residents, families and employees and exhibit a high degree of ethical conduct, integrity and confidentiality.
Interact with and appreciate people from diverse cultural, social and religious backgrounds
Demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures; the ability to enforce them and hold individuals accountable.

Education, Credentials and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition Education, Culinary Arts, or Business.
OR any Bachelor's Degree and a State-recognized certificate for school nutrition directors.
OR any Associate's Degree, or equivalent educational experience with academic major in a relevant area of study and at least one year of relevant school nutrition program experience.
OR a High School Diploma and 3 years' experience in a school nutrition program.
Certificate in food handling required.
Valid driver's license. Must meet state driving requirements and pass corporate insurance eligibility standards.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
