Summary:
The role of the Production Lead is to help support theoperation in the assigned area.
This would include training of personnel, assignment of station and support of operation.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Ensure that all Safety rules, OSHA requirements and Company Policiesare followed.
2.
Work with QA to ensure all product made is food safe.
3.
Record all production reports properly.
4.
Ensure quality specifications are met.
5.
Handle employee break coordination.
6.
Make sure that all floor wide areas and lines are operating at maximum capacity.
7.
Support troubleshooting of operator level equipment issues on floor area.
8.
Communicate with supervisor, manager, and/or other departments for machinery, food, and safety issues.
9.
Able to conduct training with newly hired employees.
10.
Make sure that all company GMP's are being followed.
11.
Direct staff on assigned lines for line tasks and rotations.
12.
Ensure production data is tracked and shared on production boards.
13.
Ensure all production line in assigned area have and are using the correct materialsand recipes.
14.
Validate quantity in and out with warehouse team for all of assigned production areas.
15.
All staff are responsible for Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and Plant Safety rules while in the processing facility.
Staff are encouraged to report Food Safety and Quality concerns immediately to their supervisors and Quality representatives on shift.
16.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent must have experience working as a production worker with food products.
Individual must be able to multi-task, communicate effectively with coworkers, provide work instruction in a constructive fashion and write simple work orders or reports.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
This position requires basic math and computer skills to report production data.
This position must be trained in GMP's and company food safety programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1.
Must wear assigned PPE including for example:
safety footwear, hearing protectionand safety glasses.
2.
Work in and out of variable temperatures including coolers and ovens3.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
4.
At least 8 hours on feet standing or walking to workstation5.
Ability to climb ladders, stoop, bend and reach to maneuver around equipment WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature andloud noises from machinery and equipment alarms.
The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises and alarms from equipment and machinery.
Some tasks may require additional safety measures to ensure the safe completion of the task.
It all started way back in 1948back when we had an honest-to-goodness working farm on the outskirts of the bustling metropolis of Chicago.
As one of the largest specialty vegetable farms in the Midwest, we worked the land, bringing fresh produce to market.
And even though we've grown out of that first urban farm, we haven't forgotten what it means to be an Urban Farmer.
